Welcome

Gu Feng Tai Chi Club, Inc. is a non-profit Tai Chi school. The mission of the club is to promote long term tai chi practice for physical and spiritual well being. Whenever possible, instruction is given bilingually, both in Chinese and English. Communicating traditional Chinese culture is one of the important activities of the Club. Members of the club give Tai Chi demonstrations from time to time in Boulder, Colorado, and its vicinity.

Tai Chi (Taijiquan) is a part of traditional Chinese culture and a branch of martial arts which has enjoyed worldwide popularity in recent years, mostly as a form of exercise, meditation, and relaxation. Tai Chi is a practice of the ancient Chinese Taoist philosophy that life and the universe are combinations and constant exchanges of Yin and Yang.

The main concept of Tai Chi exercise is to be gentle but firm, to defeat toughness with softness, and to achieve tranquility in motion. It is an excellent exercise for people in all fitness conditions, a superior system for improving the harmony of human with nature and body with mind, and an advanced system of self-defense.

Taiji explores the dynamic, as experienced in an instant. Practice explores the becoming, as transformed into being.
